Hi. Here are the results from having taken a single meal, last night, to reward me and my wife for 2 weeks of eating good and losing weight with a meal of being bad.
The meal consisted of foods we love and I cooked it all and served it up to my wife and myself. Fettucini. Garlic cheese bread. Chicken cooked in olive oil and real Kerrygold unsalted butter with Zucchini and onions. Tomato sauce made from canned crushed tomatoes and tomato paste with fresh basil, garlic, butter, olive oil, fresh oregano, salt, and pepper. Served on a large plate, a large helping of fettucini next to a large 1/4 of a loaf of garlic cheese bread a the chicken onion and zucchini nestled between, the pasta topped with tomato sauce that I allowed to run onto the chicken and sprinkled with fresh-grated parmesan.
Here is the good and bad of things that came from this. There are no good things that came from this. I gave myself bloating. I gained 4.2 pounds of weight that had taken me 10 days to lose. I feel awful this morning. My eyes are crusty and my joints ache.
The lesson learned from this “reward“, is that my body likes carbs, fats and salt the way a junkies body like heroin or cocaine. The moment it gets it’s “drug” of choice, it likes it and wants more and it will make you feel like sh-t until you do get some more.
Was the reward dinner rewarding? Not at all. It was an indulgent waste of energy, time and money that left me worse off having done it. That said, it is a signpost, a warning marker of what will happen if I give in to my urges and cravings.
SOLUTION: Don’t eat manufactured and processed carbs or fats or add salt to my food.
Projected weight loss over 180 days = 28.8 lbs.
